Request for Services

The Lucas County Pathways to Success Initiative serves youth in foster care ages 10-17 who are at risk of academic failure as a result of educational mobility, placement instability, delinquent and unruly behavior, and other challenges associated with foster care experiences of youth. Reasons for referral can include, but are not limited to assistance with:

  • Maintaining placement and school enrollment when doing so would be in the child's best interest;
  • Providing transportation when necessary for a child to remain in their original school;
  • Providing training for Trauma teachers, CASA/GAL, caseworkers, court personnel and other community stakeholders;
  • Providing mediation services to prevent foster placement disruption;
  • Improving school attendance in order to improve educational success;
  • Reducing school misbehavior; and
  • Linkage to appropriate services.
