The Board of Revision (BOR) reviews complaints people have with their property values. Homeowners who wish to challenge their property values as listed at the Auditor’s Office can file with the Board of Revision beginning January 1st, 2014. Homeowners must complete and file a BOR form before the March 31, 2014. deadline.
Once a complaint has been filed, homeowners will receive a scheduling notice by mail. The applicant will have the option to receive the scheduling notice either by ordinary mail or certified mail (these selections are available on the waiver form). Hearings are held in One Government Center on the sixth floor. Hearings are scheduled in 15 minute increments. The homeowner will meet with a Board of Revision joint panel comprised of representatives from the Auditor, Treasurer and Commissioners offices.
If you choose to waive your right for a hearing and have the Board render a decision on your behalf, please fill out the Waiver Form and send it along with your BOR form. Homeowners can obtain a BOR form at the Auditor’s office, via mail, or can download a printable copy. Complainants filing income producing, commercial or industrial property applications are encouraged to review the BOR Instructions for Filing Complaint. Additional information is required.
