1. If my value is decreased does that mean I will see a reduction on my taxes?

There is no dollar-for-dollar correlation between the decrease/increase in appraised value and taxes. Your appraised value multiplied by the voted levies equal your general taxes.

2. I combined my parcels last year. Why did I get two tax bills?

All work changing land configuration is processed for the coming year's tax duplicate, you will receive a combined tax bill for the following year.

3. Did a particular parcel sell at the Sheriff's Sale?

4. What if I turn 65 after the Homestead deadline?

If you turn 65 ANYTIME during the year of your application, you are eligible to apply for Homestead. However, you need to apply before the deadline for that year.

5. How many acres are required to qualify for the Current Agricultural Use Valuation program?

You need more than ten acres which must be used exclusively for agricultural purposes. Farms of ten acres or less of qualifying land must report their yearly gross income and must maintain an average yearly gross income of $2,500 to continue to qualify for the program.
