Sealed proposals for the “Alterations to Bittersweet Co-Op Kitchen” will be received by the Lucas County Board of Commissioners (on behalf of Bittersweet Farms) at One Government Center, Suite 800, Toledo, Ohio 43604 until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011 at said office and opened and read aloud. A Mandatory Contractor Walkthrough is scheduled for Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the site: Bittersweet Farms, 12660 Archbold-Whitehouse Road, Whitehouse, OH 43571.
Bid specifications and bid forms may be secured at City Blueprint, 3455 Briarfield Blvd. Suite D, Maumee, Ohio 43537 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for a $30 non-refundable fee. Visa, Mastercard, Cash, or company check accepted. Please fax order request to 419-243-6418. This project is funded by the Federal FY09 CDBG Formula Program. Estimated cost: $60,000.
Each bid must be accompanied by either a bid bond in an amount of 100% of the bid amount with a surety satisfactory to the Lucas County Board of Commissioners or by certified check, cashiers check, or letter of credit upon a solvent bank in the amount of not less than 10% of the bid amount in favor of the Lucas County Board of Commissioners. Bid Bonds shall be accompanied by Proof of Authority of the official or agent signing the bond.
This is a re-bid of this project; there are no changes in the previous scope of work. Bids for the above-described work must be made on blanks furnished by Lucas County. Bids shall be sealed and marked as Bid for “Alterations to Bittersweet Co-op Kitchen” and mailed or delivered to the Lucas County Commissioners office at the address above. Bids must be stamped with time and date received. Bids received after the scheduled bid opening date and time or not accompanied by the required bid bond/check and required affidavits will not be considered.
Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in this bid packet, particularly to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wages, various insurance requirements, various equal opportunity provisions, and the requirement for a payment bond and performance bond for 100% of the contract price. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Lucas County reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids, or accept any bid for both labor and material for such improvements without disclosure of reason and to determine the lowest and best bidder in the aggregate.
